Baby Shower for Andrea Van Engen

A baby shower for Andrea Van Engen will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, at the home of Cindy Skaff, 2674 Drummond Road, Toledo. This shower will be an open house, so feel free to stop in anytime between 10 a.m. and noon. A short devotional will be given at 10:30 a.m., so please plan accordingly if you would like to be present to hear it. Andrew and Andrea have registered at Babies “R” Us. Kids’ Clubs Start Soon

Children's Outreach Ministries have been sharing the Gospel with youth in public elementary schools through the after-school Kids’ Clubs for the last 20 years. This has been achieved by committed volunteers teaching them Bible stories, songs and memory verses. The clubs are led by more than 60 people from various evangelical churches, including Christ the Word. We are getting ready to launch our clubs with our annual kickoff which is designed to bring together those interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity. Chili Cook-Off and Bonfire Saturday, Oct. 22

All are invited to a Chili Cook-off and Bonfire Saturday, Oct. 22, at the new church property. The fun begins at 4 p.m. SempeRef, Living Word Youth, and each pathway will compete in the cook-off. The categories for the cook-off are regular, exotic and atomic. There will be tours of the new building throughout the evening. We will also have a time of prayer for the corporate needs of Christ the Word. Don’t forget to bring your “stuff” to make s’mores around the bonfire.
