Dionne Farewell Cookout this Sunday: All are invited to attend a farewell cookout for the Dionne family as they look to depart for Spartanburg, SC in August. The cookout will be held at the Walnut Grove Shelter in Secor Metropark near the new church building Sunday, July 31, beginning at 1 p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs, lemonade and water will be provided. Singles and couples should bring a side dish or dessert to share and families should bring two side dishes or desserts to share. If you have questions, please contact Ben Byers.

Men's Canoe Trip
RSVP Deadline this Sunday: Registration is open for the annual men’s canoe and camping trip to Grayling, MI. The registration deadline is this Sunday. Come out for one or all of the days of Aug. 12-14 for this manly adventure and relaxing weekend. We look forward to a great time as fathers, sons, and men together in God’s creation. Baby Shower for...
Aleaha Bayly this Saturday:Please join us in showering blessings on Aleaha Bayly as she and Nathan await the birth of their new baby! Her shower will be held at the Dominguez home, 9035 Salisbury Road, Monclova, on Saturday, July 30. It will be an open house, so stop in anytime between 10 a.m. and noon. A short devotional will be given at 10:30, and muffins and coffee will be served. Nathan and Aleaha are registered at Babies “R” Us and Target.

Abortion Protest
Protest this Saturday: This Saturday, West Toledo Pathway will be leading Christ the Word’s protest at the abortion clinic at 1160 W. Sylvania Ave. from 8 a.m. until at least 10 a.m. Anyone interested in joining us is encouraged to do so. Please pray that God will use us to save lives this Saturday.

Sylvania Ave. Lives are being saved through our work. Hallelujah! God is forever praised! Though God is working miraculously, this ministry still needs faithful prayer. Backyard Bible Clubs
The Foulke's Club Begins Next Week: After a short break, the 2011 Backyard Bible Clubs start back up beginning with the Foulke's club this Monday, July 25 through Friday, July 29. The club is from 10 a.m. till noon. Kids ages 4 to sixth grade are invited. The clubs are free and center around the Gospel message of Jesus and include exciting stories, fun games, cool crafts and delicious snacks. Please use this opportunity to invite neighbors, friends and family as an opportunity to share the joy of the Gospel. Iron-2-Iron: The final book discussion for the summer women’s reading group will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the home of Michelle Holder. The book, “A Place of Quiet Rest,” by Nancy Leigh DeMoss will be discussed. Sheila Raker will be leading with a start time of 7 p.m. If you haven’t been able to be part of the reading groups this summer you have missed some great thoughts and fellowship.
