Picnic and 577 Foundation Tour on September 28

RSVP by September 20 to Wendy (only 22 spots still left)

Meet at Woodlands Park (429 W. Boundary, Perrysburg) at 11:30 for a "bring your own" picnic and play on Fort Imagination. Then meet at 577 Foundation (577 East Front St., Perrysburg) at 12:45 for a tour of their beautiful grounds and gardens. After our hour tour, we'll explore the grounds and fellowship together. The tour is limited to 30 people. Please RSVP to Wendy F. for the tour or if you have any questions.

You are welcome to come to just the picnic or just the tour, if it fits your schedule better.

Pizza Hut Book It Coupons

Pizza Hut runs the book it program for homeschoolers as well as those in private/public schools. You can register at http://www.bookitprogram.com/Enrollment/index.asp
and select homeschool. From there, input your family's information. The official sign up date has passed, but as long as the certificates are available they will still enroll you.

Day In BG Details

Dear Day in BG Participants!

We are looking forward to a fun day romping around BG and exploring some of its unique sights. We will begin by meeting at 9:15 am at the Windfarm which is located off of Route 6, west of BG. You can't miss the big windmills swirling around!! The physical address of the windfarm is the same as the landfill,
15320 Tontogany Road. Please arrive on time so that we can begin our tour promptly at 9:30 am.

From the windfarm, we will head over to the landfill to learn about where our garbage goes after it gets whisked away by the garbage truck. Then we will drive over to the recycling center on College Street (we will form a caravan) and explore the options of reusing our garbage instead of putting it in the dump. (Although personally speaking, landfills pay the bills at the Heyerly house!!)

When we are done at the recycling center, we will head to City Park, which is west of Main Street on Conneaut Avenue. For those of you who are in a rush that morning and don't have time to pack a lunch, Wendy's in BG has $1.99 kids meals (adults can buy them too!!).

The kids can play and eat until about 2:00 pm, when those who signed up for the Wood County Historical Museum will go on our quest of "the fingers" and other unique treasures of Wood County. The Wood County Museum is located at:

The cost for the WCHM is $2/person age 5 and older. Please bring your payment to the museum to pay there.

What: Orienteering and Animal Homes Metro Park Classes. When: Wednesday, April 14 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Where: Secor Metro Park Cost: $3 per participating child Other notes: Come early and eat lunch or play in the park Where are You? (Orienteering) - age 10 up through high school - Develop compass skills through hands-on practice as students learn directions and degrees by completing an orienteering course. Animal Homes - preschool to age 9 - Food, water, space, and shelter are required to survive in nature... Go into the woods and meadows in search of burrows, nests, holes, and more. Today is the last day to contact Rhonda Heyerly for participation in the chok-full field trip "A Day in BG" scheduled for later this month. Read on for the details of this intoxicating day!

We are going to take a day in BG and explore the new and old in Wood County.

Pack a lunch and head on down to Bowling Green on Wednesday, April 28th. We will begin at 9:15 am at the Windfarm and take a guided tour about the windmills, from there we are going to take a tour of the Wood County Landfill. After we look (and smell!) where our garbage goes, we will see were our recyclables go at the Wood County Recycling Center.

We will take a mid-day picnic and play break at City Park before heading over to the Wood County Historical Museum for a tour at 2:00 pm. You can see the fingers of the last person hung in Wood County if you care to!! The cost is $2/person.

You can join us for the whole day, the morning tours, or just the afternoon tour. It is your choice. Please just RSVP to Rhonda Heyerly by April 7th and let us know that you will be joining us!!

Homeschool Event: Ag Awareness Day

Homeschoolers will visit the 2010 Ag Awareness Day at the Monroe County Fairgrounds on Friday, May 7, 2010, from 9:30 - 1:30 p.m. Reservations should be made promptly as there are a limited number of spots available. The cost is $2 per student. Students may bring a sack lunch and should come dressed for the weather as this activity will be outdoors or in barns.
