Basic Training & OCS
Basic Training is Christ the Word's ministry dedicated to training men to be godly fathers in the Church and the home, to be loving husbands, and to developing male leaders in the Kingdom of God. It meets Saturday mornings from 6:30 to 8:30 AM at the church office during the school year led by Robert Forney, Wayne Turner and David Bayly.
Basic Training's year-long course in basic manhood alternates with OCS, an intensive survey of Scripture designed to prepare men for leadership in the Church. Completion of Basic Training and OCS are typically, though not uniformly, the course of preparation for Christ the Word's officers.
During the course of Basic Training and OCS men will memorize the Westminster Shorter Catechism. Entrance to Basic Training and OCS are by invitation and class size is limited.
