LWY Talent Show a Success!

The LWY talent show was in full swing last night! There were talents shared that made you giggle, some that made you wiggle, others that made you cover your ears, some that made your mouth water with anticipation and still more that filled your heart with joy! There are lot of talents within the youth group and while not all may appreciate some talents as much as other talents, it was still a joy to see the encouragement others had for one another. As much fun as it was it was also a sad evening as we said an official goodbye to Christopher Lechman. We hope to see him visit often and still participate when he is able. We love you Chris and hope you and your family find a new church family whose love for its congregation is only surpassed by its love and commitment to God.

One of the moments from last night's talent show many found very special was a poem written by Deanna Beerbower and read by her sister Jeannette. You will find it written here:

Christopher Lechman, we bid thee farewell.
The memories are many
of this youth group with you.
How life will now lead, only God can tell.

Remember all the good time we've had:
funny, sad, and in-between;
times of learning about God.
He is our own special, heavenly Dad.

Groovy Chris, we'll remember these things:
Profound thinking and reading;
guitars and golf and gum.
Many will miss your instrument with strings.

You are Set Apart, we know, After All.
Everything else put aside,
to us all, God is top
and on our knees before Him we will fall.

We pray you'll help God's kingdom to grow
in your new Kentucky home.
You'll find many friends
to encourage in Jesus Christ - do so!
