Announcements from August 5 Bulletin

Abigail Rae Morgan Memorial Service This Evening
Our remembrance and celebration of the life of Abigail Morgan will take place tonight in the sanctuary at 6:30 p.m.

3-week Interim Sunday School Class and Membership Class Beginning Sept. 9
Between the Summer and Fall Sunday school trimesters we will be having a three-week interim session. Tom Evans will be teaching a class on the book of Joshua called “Snapshots from Joshua.” A membership class will be offered as well. Please contact Pastor Andrew, who will be leading the class, if you are planning to attend.

Sept. 2: CTW Picnic & Concert at Camp Miakonda
So you’re going to be at the CTW picnic at Camp Miakonda, but do you know what you’ll be listening to while you’re there? Well, besides the joy filled screams of our children as they watch Mr. Killy shred apart a Slip-n-Slide with his bare chest, you’ll be hearing some original praise music written and performed by our very talented youth, along with some of our other favorite tunes performed by the older folks that wield instruments. In other words, you’ll be hearing a concert! More details will be coming soon.

Ladies of CTW: Retreat to a Place of Sweet Surrender
Only one week until registration and payment for the Women’s Retreat is due. Don’t miss this opportunity to grow spiritually, fellowship with your Christian sisters, and relax at Heritage Inn at Sauder Village. Stop by the table in the Narthex to turn in your materials or pick up additional registration forms and a reminder favor. Due to Heritage Inn’s policies, registrations and payments MUST be received by August 12th. Registration and payment can also be given or mailed to Sara Shields or Katherine Zellers. If you have any questions about the retreat please contact Cindy Skaff.

Regular LWY Meeting meeting at the Bayly Home
Wednesday, August 8th, The Regular LWY will be meeting at the Bayly home from 6:15-8:30pm. There will also be swimming, so please bring your swim suit and towel. No two piece bathing suits please.

Sr. High Going to Cedar Point
The Sr. High, Grades 9-12, will be going to Cedar Point on Thursday, August 23rd. All Sr. High youth will meet at 8:30am at Scott Killy’s home: 25 Curwood Rd., Holland, OH 43528. We plan to arrive back at the Killy’s home around 9:00pm. The cost is $33 dollars a person and covers the ticket pass and transportation. For those that do have summer passes, please contact Hunter Turner to find out the different cost. Each person will either need to bring a sacked lunch and or money for lunch and dinner.

Aug. 13: 2007-2008 Homeschool Planning Meeting:
Attention all homeschool moms, please plan to attend the planning meeting on August 13 at 7 p.m. at Julie Van Wormer’s home. We will be planning field trips, activities, meetings and speakers for the whole year. This is your chance to share your ideas and give your imput as to how the whole year will look. W.O.W. Fall Bible Studies
The women’s studies for fall are in place. Please pick up a flyer and/or sign up in the narthex. You need to sign up this Sunday or the next two Sundays to make sure you receive a study guide ordered for you. Any questions contact Diane Walls.

Lemonade and Lightening Bugs
This month’s fellowship time for the women of CTW will take place on August 16th at 8:00 pm out in front of Starbucks at Levis Commons. If you are not a coffee drinker, chocolate ice cream at Maggi Moo’s is just a short stroll away. Come join your friends for fellowship. Please Update

Email Addresses
Recently there have been emails sent out to church attendees and members in an effort to comunicate specific details of matters that are important to the congregation. As a result of these emails being sent it has come to our attention that many email addresses need to be updated. We would appreciate your using the connections card to update email addresses so that we might better communicate with you in the future.

Free Vegetables
In the coming weeks their will be free freshly harvested vegetables in the narthex. Please feel free to grab some on the way out after worship. Donations are welcome; all proceeds will go to the Deacon’s benevolence fund.

Nursery Volunteers Needed
If you are willing to serve in the nursery for Sunday School or church (or both) please contact Marcia James at home 419.841.7154. The new schedule will be coming out in August but please sign-up now. Thanks!

Do You Have A Three-Year-Old?
As the elders and deacons work on spacing issues with the nursery and have asked parents to keep their 3 year old children with them, we would like to remind everyone that children’s church is for children ages 4 to 6 years old. The curriculum and structure is designed specifically for children in this age range. If you have further questions about children’s church please contact Lynnette Killy or Bianca Altman.

Homeschool Activities
On August 8, the homeschoolers are invited to “Absolutely Batty” at W. W. Knight Center in Perrysburg from 1:30 to 3:00. Come learn about bats and see some live bats. For more information and to RSVP, contact Janet Anderson at 419.875.6639.
