Announcements from October 21 Bulletin
Congregational Meeting Tonight
Following tonight’s worship service we will be holding a short congregational meeting to inform the congregation about the year’s budget and upcoming plans. During the month of November, the elders will be receiving nominations for the office of elder and deacon. The process will be explained at the congregational meeting and nomination forms will be handed out.
November 25: Thank Offering Sunday
The deacons will be collecting our annual Thank Offering on November 25th. As in the past, we are encouraging the children of Christ the Word to come up to the front of the sanctuary to express their thankfulness to God by bringing an offering. Also, this collection will be the last benevolence collection taken in 2007. We have combined the November and December benevolence in order to help those who will be in need during the holiday season. We are praying that God will bless this offering to teach our children about the importance of giving, and enable our church to do good works of charity. The deacons thank you for your cheerful giving in the past and for your generosity in this next collection.
WOW Survey of Talents and Gifts
The WOW committee has determined that it would be beneficial to know more about the women here at CTW. In an effort to better know specific areas of strength or knowledge among our women we would appreciate each woman that attends CTW to please fill out a small survey available on the table in the narthex and place it into the box provided. This we trust will helps us serve one another better.
WOW Christmas Fellowship: Back to Bethlehem
WOW Christmas Fellowship—Back to Bethlehem—will take place on Tuesday evening November 27th. More details will be coming but put the date on your calendar now!
Winter Retreat Need
Some Living Word Youth (LWY) members are seeking opportunities to earn their way to go on the Winter Retreat. They are very willing to work for hire if someone has work for them to do or if someone is in a position to sponsor them. Sponsors can also choose to have them work for someone else. Any opportunities would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to hire youth or sponsor them to work for someone else please contact Scott Killy at 419-329-1100.
Cherry St. Mission Food Drive Cancelled
The Deacons and the Living Word Youth have decided it best to cancel the Cherry St. Mission Food Drive. In thinking further it seems better to give Cherry St. Mission a portion of the upcoming benevolence from the special thank offering November 25. Cherry St. Mission has knowledge of their specific needs and at times they have opportunities to purchase items at a less costly rate. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
LWY Annual Service Day at the Guthrie Home this Wednesday, Oct. 24

We encourage those that are able to begin arriving at 6 p.m. Please plan on picking youth up between 8:30 and 8:45 p.m. The Guthrie home is located at 8604 Nebraska Ave Toledo OH 43617.
