July 1 Bulletin Announcements

Evening Service Tonight
We’re back to our regular Sunday evening schedule (1st and 3rd Sundays of the month). Come back to the fellowship hall tonight for our evening worship service. Our service will begin at 6:30 p.m. And, remember, we have suspended the snack time.

Nursery Information
The elders and deacons are working to resolve staffing and space issues in the nursery during morning worship. Until a long-term solution is implemented, we request that the nursery be used for children under three years of age. Please bear with us as we work to resolve these problems by keeping your three-year-olds with you during worship.

Father’s Meeting with the Deacons: July 8
Immediately following the July 8th morning service there will be a short meeting with the fathers of CTW in the fellowship hall. A few issues have arisen that the Deacon board would like to discuss with you.

LWY Regular Meeting Cancelled on July 4
The regular youth meeting is cancelled July 4th. All youth and parents are encouraged to participate in the July 4th Outreach day. Details can be found elsewhere in the bulletin.

July 3: CTW Softball Team Plays Trinity Church

July 17: College/Sr. High Contra Dance
All college and senior high school (grades 9-12) persons are invited to attend a Contradance on Tuesday, July 17 at the W.W. Knight Center. What is a contradance? It is a more elegant form of square dancing and holds its place in Irish tradition. The attire should be semi-formal. The doors open at 6 p.m. with music beginning at 6:30 p.m. and ending by 9 p.m. There will be a nice assortment of desserts and refreshments available throughout the evening. Cost for this event is $5 and should be submitted to Scott Killy no later than Monday, July 16. The W.W. Knight Center is located at 29530 White Road in Perrysburg. If you have any further questions please contact Scott Killy.

Homeschool Activities
On July 17, the homeschoolers are invited to “Wading through the Wetlands” at the W. W. Knight Center in Perrysburg from 1:30 to 3:00. For more information and to RSVP, contact Janet Anderson at 419.875.6639.

The Living Word Youth Choir Need YOU
If you are a male teen or young adult and willing (and able) to sing, please come to our next rehearsal. WHEN? it’s easy to remember: we rehearse at 5:30 each evening we have a Sunday night church service (for approximately 45 minutes before the service). For more details, see Don White, Ashley Forney or Kelly Walters. Hope to see and hear you next Sunday night.

Luscious Cookbook In Need of More Participants
We have over 300 recipes for the cookbook and it is chock-full of all kinds of inspiring recipes! Alas though, over-age-18-contributors are still needed! We have 46 contributors. We need 75 contributors to have a guarantee from the publisher. Please check the list (in the lobby) and if you see someone hasn’t given a recipe, please encourage-hound-harass them to submit a recipe! If you haven’t given one, please help this effort (and save your friends the trouble of harassing you) by submitting even ONE recipe! To submit recipes, email them to lynnettek@sbcglobal.net or go to gandrpublishing.com where you can enter your own recipes. The username is: Living Word Youth. The Password is: LWY (case sensitive). For any questions, contact Lynnette Killy at 419-868-9889.

Cookbook Uh-Oh
If you have submitted recipes, please check the list of cookbook contributors (lobby) to verify that you are included on the list. There have been discrepancies regarding the receipt of recipes. We are taking every effort to make sure there are no surprises after publishing, and no one who thought they were included was left out. Also, one person submitted recipes without a name. Those unclaimed recipes are listed in the lobby also. When you email a recipe to Lynnette, please make sure you receive a return email acknowledging receipt of your recipe—if you don’t, please contact her. This will help catch errors. Thank you to those of you who have embraced this effort. It is each of you who will make this a success. Any questions or comments, see Lynnette Killy.

Deacon of the Day
This Sunday’s “Deacon of the Day” is Marc Brunner. Next week: Matt French.

CTW Softball Team Victorious! A Win for Mario!

The 2007 CTW softball team got its first win Thursday against Holland Free Methodist (HFM). It was more of a football score than a softball score with the final tally being 18-14.

CTW seemed to relax going into the final inning up 13-5, but quickly found themselves in trouble. HFM through some timely hitting had come back 13-11 with runners on third and second with 1 out. HFM scored on a fielders choice bringing the game within one with two outs and a runner on third. They then drove in the tying run and looked ready to go ahead when Steve Altman snagged a line drive headed for trouble and a certain defeat for CTW. It was the final out for the inning and stopped the bleeding. With extra innings before them, Steve Wing lead off with a triple and was eventually driven in to go up by one. CTW then proceeded to score three more runs with two outs. CTW held on for the win giving up only one run in HFM final at bat.

This was the first win of the season for CTW whose record is now 1-4 in its return to competive play for the first time in 5 years. CTW's softball team wanted this win as much for themselves as for Coach Mario Dominguez and his family. The team's prayers are with the Dominguez family as Mario undergoes surgery on his broken neck suffered this past week in an ATV accident.
