Evening Service Tonight
This evening at 6:30 p.m. David will continue his preaching on discipline in the context of the home. All families—particularly those with young children—are encouraged to attend. Because we are expecting more people to attend, we will be meeting in the Sanctuary. Also, Andrew will be talking about life in the pastors college from the perspective of a teacher.
Skate Night: Jan. 30
CTW’s annual skate night is scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Swanton Coliseum . Admission is free. You can bring your own roller blades or skates, or if you need to rent skates there is a $2.50 fee. Swanton Coliseum is located at 12725 Airport Hwy in Swanton OH 43558. Hope to see you there!
Couples Night Out: Saturday, Feb. 9
All adult couples are invited to the Christ The Word annual Couples Night Out, February 9, 2008. From 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. we will be enjoying finger foods and desserts along with fun and fellowship at the home of Rob Fredrick: 7161 Hidden Valley Drive, Lambertville, MI. W.O.W. Event—Before the Throne: Cultivating a Vibrant Prayer Life
The WOW Committee is planning a morning of learning and challenge for you on Saturday February 23rd. More information will be coming.
After-School Bible Club Prayer and Collection
Please remember to pray for our after-school Bible clubs each Thursday morning. The Lord has blessed these groups, and we look forward to more blessing. Also, please support the clubs by bringing juice boxes. Please place them in the box in the Narthex.
Homeschool Group Announcements
• On January 22 at 6:30, we will spend an evening laughing, talking and creating a basket for use in your home. Cost and time will vary depending on the size of basket you choose to make. This event is located at 3905 Herr Rd. For more information, contact Sharon Ahrendt.
• There will be a homeschool K-12 field trip on Tuesday, Feb. 5 to the “Swamp to Settlement” presentation at the W. W. Knight Center in Perrysburg. Please meet in the parking lot at 9:45 and RSVP to Cheryl Bayly.
Cummings Family Visiting
The mission committee is excited to welcome Jon & Susanna Cummings and their three children to Christ the Word Tuesday, January 29 through Monday, February 4 as our special guest for our annual missions week. They currently serve as missionaries in Guadalajara, Mexico. They will be joining the church at our annual skate night January 30 and will be visiting different ministry groups while here. Please join us February 3 for a special Sunday school hour with the Cummings family and later that evening as Jon will be preaching during our Sunday evening service.
Choir Continuing
Our Advent choir sounded excellent and we would like to keep the choir together. Beginning today, January 20th we will be starting regular rehearsals after the morning service. Don & Adam White will be leading the choir; all adults and senior high students are invited to sing. For more information please contact Don or Adam White.
Instrumental Ensemble Rehearsals
Our instrumental ensemble sounded great too! We are excited to continue regular rehearsals of the ensemble. All are invited to participate. Please see Bill Van Wormer for more information about rehearsal times and music. Rehearsals will begin soon.
2008 LWY Winter Retreat
All remaining balances and medical release forms for the Living Word Youth annual Winter Retreat are due January 30th. Please turn them in to Scott Killy or Rhonda Heyerly. If you have not put any money down and are still interested in coming, please contact Scott Killy or Hunter Turner. Also, if you have an answer to the Winter Retreat Riddle, please contact Scott Killy.
