Announcements from January 6 Bulletin

January Evening Services
During our two January evening services, David will be preaching on discipline in the context of the home. All families—particularly those with young children—are encouraged to attend. On January 6th, we will also hear an update from Michelle Holder about our After School Clubs.

Open House At Dionne Home: January 19
We would like to invite anyone who started attending Christ the Word during 2007 to an open house at our home. Come join us on Saturday, January 19, between 6:30 and 9:00 p.m. for dessert and fellowship. Please call Sarah Dionne (419-531-5817) with any questions.

W.O.W. Women’s Bible Studies
Is the Holy Spirit urging you to be a part of a woman’s Bible study now that a new year is here? If so, we have three places where you can grow in your knowledge of God and His Word. Each of these studies is continuing in 2008 but there is a place for you in any of them. If you are interested please contact the host or a leader of the study.

Wednesday mornings- Deuteronomy- contact Adrienne Miklovic or Lynnette Killy.

CTW Baby Shower
All the women of CTW are invited to a baby shower this coming Saturday for Tai French. The shower will be held at 10:00 am at Lisa Dominguez’s home on Salisbury Road. Craig and Tai have registered at Target and Babies R Us.

W.O.W. Cocoa & Conversation
Hungry for some adult women’s conversation in the dead of winter? Put the kiddles to bed and join other women from CTW for just that, conversation and a cup of cocoa, on Tuesday January 15th at Marcia James’ home. The time is 8:00 p.m.

Homeschool Outing
An ice skating adventure will held at the Bowling Green Ice Arena on January 18 from 12:00-2:00. Admission is $3 and $2 skate rental. Open skating starts at 12:00 but you can get your skates at 11:30. No concessions are available but you can bring snacks into the rink. Contact Cheryl Bayly for more information at 419-878-4863.

Junior High LWY Game Night
All Jr. High Living Word Youth, grades 7th & 8th, are invited to our Fun & Board Game Day on January 19th. It will be held at the Turner Home, 2420 Robinwood Ave. Toledo, OH 43620, and will be from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Snacks, drinks, and games will be provided. Also if you have any great games you would like to bring, please do so, and bring your friends too! Questions? Contact Hunter Turner @ 419.329.1100.

2008 LWY Winter Retreat
All remaining balances and medical release forms for the Living Word Youth annual Winter Retreat are due January 30th. Please turn them in to Scott Killy or Rhonda Heyerly. If you have not put any money down and are still interested in coming, please contact Scott Killy or Hunter Turner. Also, if you have an answer to the Winter Retreat Riddle, please contact Scott Killy.

Lady In Waiting Bible Study
All young women (junior high, senior high and up) are invited to attend the Ladies in Waiting Bible Study at Sue Brown’s home. The session will begin this Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. For information contact Cheryl Bayly at 419.878.4863.

Skate Night: Jan. 30
CTW’s annual skate night is scheduled for Wednesday, January 30 from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Swanton Coliseum . Admission is free. You can bring your own roller blades or skates, or if you need to rent skates there is a $2.50 fee. Swanton Coliseum is located at 12725 Airport Hwy in Swanton OH 43558. Hope to see you there!

Upcoming Interim Sunday School Classes
Our 3-week Interim Sunday school classes will begin on January 13. In addition to a membership class, we will be offering a class on three women of the Bible. Jordan Daughtery, Matt French and Robin Kepler will each take a week, covering Deborah, Abigail, and Mary. If you are interested in attending the membership class, please let Pastor Dionne know by calling the church office (419.329.1100).

Deacon of the Day
This Sunday’s “Deacon of the Day” is Marc Brunner. Next week: Matt French.
