Announcements from May 18 Bulletin

Tonight: Evening Worship Service
Our Summer of Calvin sermon series will begin tonight: Bob Forney will be speaking about the Reformation. Please join us in the fellowship hall tonight at 6:30 p.m.

CTW Membership Class
A new membership class is set to begin in June. The class will meet during the Sunday school hour on three consecutive mornings, June 1, 8, 15. If you are interested in becoming a member please fill out the connections card as such or contact Andrew Dionne.

May 25: Morning Service with Exchange of Marriage Vows
On May 25 our morning service will include the wedding ceremony of Craig Twining and Martha Harmon. Craig and Martha would like to invite everyone in attendance to a reception in the fellowship hall immediately following the service. In order to accommodate additional guests and family members for the wedding ceremony members of Christ the Word who are able and willing are encouraged to park at the Fretti Funeral Home parking lot. Also, there will be no children’s church that morning.

Women’s TULIP Study: Sign Up Today!
Women, if you are interested in attending the TULIP study this summer, there is a sign up sheet in the foyer. Books will be ordered tomorrow, so please put your name on the list today if you plan to participate. For more information, see the Summer of Calvin insert in the bulletin, or speak with Sarah Dionne.

Iron 2 Iron Reading Group
This Sunday May 18th, will be your last opportunity to order your books if you are considering joining the women’s reading circle this summer. Please see Wendy Foulke at the table in the narthex for more information and to sign up.

W.O.W. Lemonade and Lightning Bugs
Yeah! It is time once again for our summer fellowships. Our first monthly fellowship time will take place on Tuesday June 10th at Elisa Picken’s home in Dundee MI. We will be meeting at 8pm and only nursing babies are invited to come along.

Homeschool Field Day
Homeschoolers, mark your calendars for May 23rd as we will end the school year with a field day at Baer Park in Waterville from 10:30 to 1:30. Bring a picnic lunch for your family. Backyard Bible Club Supplies Needed

There is a need for 30 empty egg cartons to be collected for one of the craft projects this year. If you could kindly bring any empty egg cartons and place them in a provided box in the narthex over the next couple of weeks this would be a great help.Please see Erica Scharer in the Narthex for a list of additional craft supplies that are needed for BYBC. All supplies are needed by May 25. If you have questions please contact Erica Scharer.

Prophets, Priests, and Kings: Reformed Theology from the Old Testament
Ever wonder where the Apostle Paul learned his theology? Or, what in the world is Leviticus about anyway? And how could that book possibly speak to my life? If you’ve ever asked yourself these questions, then beginning May 18 join Tom Wesenberg and Tim Varner as they teach through a Sunday School course designed to explore questions such as these. Each week Tom and Tim will lead discussion on a Bible passage from the Old Testament which shows that the theology of the New Testament is nothing new. Please make plans to join them.

Pinewood Derby Car Payments
If you were unable to pay for you pinewood car on the day of the race, please give your payment to Andrew Dionne. The cost per car was $3.25.

Upcoming LWY Parent Meeting
All parents of current or 2008 incoming youth are encouraged to attend the LWY parent meeting on Thursday, May 29 at 7:00pm at the Foulke Home, 14060 Eckel Junction Rd, Perrysburg, OH 43551. We will be discussing the current transition within the youth group, introducing new leaders, and upcoming events.

Save the Date: Annual Father/Son Canoe Trip
We will be camping at the rustic Hartwick Pines State Park & canoeing along the AuSable River. August 8-10, 2008. More Info coming soon. Questions? Talk with Tyson Turner (419-490-6864).

CTW Family Camp Outing: June 26-29
Our 2nd Annual family camping trip is scheduled Thursday, June 26th – Sunday, June 29th. We will be camping at East Harbor State Park (same location as last year). The cost per family is $20 a night and covers the campsite cost only. Families should bring their own food and supplies. Families can choose to stay as many as three nights or as few as one, or if you are unable to stay the night please feel free to come up and spend a day in fellowship. CTW will hold worship services at both the state park and at our normal location in Toledo. You can begin SIGNING-UP NOW on the CTW Website Events page by clicking the “Sign Up For Events” link near the top of the page. You will likely have to add your name and create a password, but this will enable you to sign-up for future events using this same information.
