Announcements from June 29 Bulletin

4th of July Water Distribution Cancelled
Due to logistical problems and other conflicts, our annual 4th of July evangelistic water distribution is cancelled. We plan to be back on track next year.

Women’s TULIP Study Back at Original Time
The TULIP study will meet at its normal 7:00 p.m. time this Thursday, July 3.

Name Tags for July
In an effort to help people learn the various names associated with the many faces that enter the doors of Christ the Word name tags will be available for wearing during the month of July. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

July 6: Benevolence Collection
Each month during the first worship service of the month, the Deacon Board collects a benevolence offering. This collection is used primarily to help those in the congregation with pressing needs. During the past few months, several needs have come up, and the Deacon Board would like to encourage you to prayerfully consider making a generous contribution in July.

July 12: Bayly Open House
The Bayly family would like to invite any family or individuals that began attending Christ the Word during the last 12 months into their home for a time of fellowship. If weather permits feel free to bring your bathing suits for swimming. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The time is from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. The Bayly home is located at 6944 N. River Rd in Waterville.

W.O.W. Lemonade & Lightening Bugs
Our July fellowship time for women only will meet at Cheryl Bayly’s home for lemonade and an evening swim (if you would like) on Thursday, July 10th.The evening will start at 8 p.m. Make sure the date is circled on your calendar.

W.O.W. Iron 2 Iron
The 2nd installment of our WOW summer reading circle will be held Monday, July 21st at Wendy Foulke’s home. This selection provides for you an excellent opportunity to read R.C. Sproul’s classic book The Holiness of God and discuss it with others. Any questions see Wendy Foulke.

Wednesdays In The Park
This coming Wednesday the women and children of CTW will meet once again at Monclova Park in Maumee across from St Luke’s Hospital. See Tai French with any questions.

We will be camping at the rustic Hartwick Pines State Park & canoeing along the AuSable River. August 8-10, 2008. More Info coming soon. Questions? Talk with Tyson Turner (419-490-6864).

July 25-27: College/Sr. High Men’s Trip to the U.P.
Young men in college or sr. high consider joining us for a great weekend outdoors in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where we will enjoy camping, hiking, exploring the Pictured Rocks region and the Hiawatha Forest. The cost is $65 and includes travel and food. Please see Scott Killy or Ryan Brown for more information.

Announcements from June 22 Bulletin

Name Tags for July
In an effort to help people learn the various names associated with the many faces that enter the doors of Christ the Word name tags will be available for wearing during the month of July. Everyone is encouraged to participate.

Our 2nd Annual family camping trip is scheduled Thursday, June 26th – Sunday, June 29th. We will be camping at East Harbor State Park. The cost per family is $20 a night and covers the campsite cost only. Families should bring their own food and supplies. Families can choose to stay as many as three nights or as few as one, or if you are unable to stay the night please feel free to come up and spend a day in fellowship. CTW will hold worship services at both the state park and at our normal location in Toledo. You can begin SIGNING-UP NOW on the CTW Website Events page by clicking the “Sign Up For Events” link near the top of the page. You will likely have to add your name and create a password, but this will enable you to sign-up for future events using this same information.

This location provides easier access to people than downtown Toledo and is a great place to view the Perrysburg/Maumee fireworks display. Our job each year is to hand out free bottled water and a tract with an introduction to the gospel message and information about our church. Plan to arrive no later than 8:00 p.m. with a wagon and a cooler (extra coolers and wagons are also appreciated). See Matthew French or Tim Barton for more information.

Our CTW women’s summer reading group will be meeting this coming Tuesday, June 24th at Diane Walls’ home for the book discussion. We will begin our discussion at 7 p.m. If you need a set of discussion questions see Diane. Tea and scones will be served as we look at Katherine’s journal.

This coming Wednesday the women and children of CTW will meet at Walbridge Park – Broadway St behind the Toledo Zoo from 10-12 a.m. See Tai French with any questions.

Amazing Race This Saturday
The LWY Amazing Race is starting this Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the Clark home and the cost is $10 a person. Typically, this is a Sr. High event, but due to many families on vacation during this time, the Amazing Race is open to all Jr. High. Please contact Jennifer as soon as possible if you would like to come!

The cost per family is $20 a night and covers the campsite cost only. Families should bring their own food and supplies. Families can choose to stay as many as three nights or as few as one, or if you are unable to stay the night please feel free to come up and spend a day in fellowship. W.O.W. Lemonade and Lightning Bugs
This coming Tuesday night, June 10th, is our first of three fellowship times for women of CTW. We will meet at Elisa Pickens home in Dundee, MI at 8 p.m. This is a time for women only but nursing babies are welcome. If you are interested in car pooling from the CTW office give Diane Walls a call at the office on Tuesday.

If you ordered the first reading selection Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss, please seeing Wendy Foulke to receive your copy and some questions for discussion. We will be meeting for tea and conversation about the book on Tuesday, June 24 at Diane Walls’ home at 7 p.m. That gives you two weeks to get the first selection read. Any questions see Wendy.

June 14: SemperRef Cedar Point Day
Next Saturday, all college-age folks are invited to meet at the church office at 8:00 a.m. for a fun day together at America’s Roller Coast. Tickets are $35. Check SemperRef.com for details.

Wednesdays In The Park
This coming Wednesday is the second of our weekly picnics at a park around the area. Lord willing the weather will be sunny and bright this week. All women and children are invited to meet at 10 a.m. at the Toledo Botanical Garden by the beehive (ouch!).

Today: LWY Family Picnic & Kickball
All LWY families are invited to join together at Secor Park: Lone Oak Shelter following our morning worship on Sunday, June 8. We are asking families to prepare their own packed picnic meal and join together at the park. As families finish eating, kickball and other activities will be available for everyone’s enjoyment. In case of rain, we have a shelter reserved ahead of time.

June 21: Third Annual LWY Amazing Race
All senior high are invited to participate in the Amazing Race Saturday, June 21. The race will begin at the Clark Home at 9:30 a.m. and end at a location to be revealed later at approximately 2 pm. The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch. Entry fees are due to Jennifer Clark by June 18th.

Pinewood Derby Car Payments
If you were unable to pay for you pinewood car on the day of the race, please give your payment to Andrew Dionne. The cost per car was $3.25.
