Announcement from July 27 Bulletin

Aug. 17: Congregational Meeting
Following our Aug. 17 evening worship service we will be holding a congregational meeting. The elders will speak about the work of CTW, and there will be a congregational vote for new diaconate candidates.

Wildwood Metropark Sunday Afternoon Gathering
On Sundays when we have an evening service scheduled, families are invited to spend the afternoon between the morning and evening services at Wildwood Metropark. Though this gathering was intended for people who travel from significant distances, all are invited. For more information and specific location at Wildwood Metropark, please talk with Marc or Renee Brunner. The next gathering will be Aug. 3.

WOW Lemonade & Lightning Bugs
Our August time together will take place at the home of Sue Beat on Monday, August 11th at 8 p.m. Plan now to attend this great time of fellowship on a summer evening.

Semper Reformanda – Chinese/American Olympic Night - August 8
College students and young professionals, save this date! In coordination with the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics, we’re planning a evening of fun events and festivities. More details forthcoming!

Sunday Evening Nursery Age Limit
It is the Living Word Youth’s joy to watch your children during the Sunday evening service and see them grow! Yet as the Lord has blessed us with many more children, our nursery space remains small. Due to the limited space, it has been necessary to set an age limit for the Sunday Evening service nursery to 3 and under. Thank you for your understanding in this matter as we continue to grow.

LWY Work Day at the Dominguez Home
This Wednesday, July 30, in place of our regular time, we will have a work day at the Dominguez home to show our appreciation to them for hosting us. It will start at 6:00 p.m. Make sure you wear cloths that you can get dirty in. Dinner will be provided. We will close with a time of prayer. See you there!

Homeschool Meeting Change
The Homeschool Meeting on August 4th has changed to meeting at the Foulke home instead of the Holder home. This meeting is at 7 p.m. Come with ideas and suggestions for what places, activities and events you and your children would like to participate in with other homeschoolers during this upcoming year. For more information or questions, contact Julie at 419-537-7008.

Wednesdays In The Park
This coming Wednesday the women and children of CTW will meet at Sidecut Metropark – 1025 River Rd Maumee. See Tai French with any questions.

Childcare Workshop
A childcare workshop will be held on Thursday, August 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. All girls age 11 and older are welcome. Girls seeking to help with Bible study and Pathway childcare are strongly encouraged to attend. This will be a very fun and informative day that you will not want to miss! Please sign up with Mrs. Daugherty at church or call 419-875-5851 by Sunday August 10th.

2009 Winter Retreat Early Bird Sign-up Begins
You can now pre-register for the 2009 LWY Winter Retreat and save $25. To do this, please see Hunter Turner or Rhonda Heyerly for a yellow Early Bird Sheet. Fill out the bottom portion and return it and a minimum payment of $35 to Hunter or Rhonda by September 24, 2008. We will once again be retreating to the lovely facilities of Son-Life Camp. The speaker for our weekend is our very own Andrew Dionne. Our focus for this year’s retreat is “Virtual vs. Reality.” We will be leaving on Friday, February 13th, and returning Monday, February 16th, 2009. This is President’s Day weekend, so schools will be off on that Monday. The fully detailed retreat brochure will be coming.

If yes, then Tyson Turner needs to receive your check/cash as soon as possible. You may mail to or leave a check at the church office, 5432 W. Central Avenue, Toledo, OH 43615, to Tyson’s attention. All checks must be made out to Christ the Word. Costs: Canoeing costs $27/two hour trip, $32/four hour trip, $42/five hour trip; kayaks are available. No charge for extra riders in the canoes. The 2nd installment of our WOW summer reading circle will be held tomorrow night at Wendy Foulke’s home at 7 p.m. The Holiness of God by R.C. Sproul is the book we will be discussing. Any questions see Wendy Foulke.

If interested please sign up with Mrs. Daugherty at church. All girls 6th grade and older are welcome. Girls seeking to help with Bible study and Pathway childcare are strongly encouraged to attend. Please pack a sack lunch and a cheerful spirit! More details to come.

Young men in college or sr. high consider joining us for a great weekend outdoors in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where we will enjoy camping, hiking, exploring the Pictured Rocks region and the Hiawatha Forest. Evening Worship Service Tonight: “Sovereignty & Free Will”
Tonight’s evening worship service will be the third installment of our Summer of Calvin evening services. Bob Forney will be preaching on “Sovereignty and Free Will.” Please joine us at 6:30 p.m. in the SDA fellowship hall.

This Saturday: Bayly Open House
The Bayly family would like to invite any family or individuals that began attending Christ the Word during the last 12 months into their home for a time of fellowship. If weather permits feel free to bring your bathing suits for swimming. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. The time is from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 12. The Bayly home is located at 6944 N. River Rd in Waterville.

W.O.W. Lemonade & Lightening Bugs
Our July fellowship time for women only will meet at Cheryl Bayly’s home this week on Thursday for lemonade and an evening swim (if you would like).The evening will start at 8 p.m. This is a great opportunity for casual fellowship. See you there.

4th of July Water Distribution Cancelled

Due to logistical problems and other conflicts, our annual 4th of July evangelistic water distribution is cancelled. We plan to be back on track next year.
