Please Exit The Sanctuary After Early Service
In order to get a timely start to our Sunday school classes, we ask that you leave the sanctuary promptly after the early service ends. You may either head directly to your Sunday school class or the fellowship hall for a cup of coffee or conversation. Thanks!

Nursery Announcement
The Deacons would like to make you aware of a change in our nursery policy. The change to two services has not only created space in the sanctuary, but in the nursery as well. Because of this, we are now allowing 3 year old children in the nursery. The change is effective immediately. We hope this is a help to you.

December Evening Services
During the month of December we will be having three evening service. Dec. 7 will be our normal evening service; Dec. 14 will be our annual Messiah Sing-Along at 7:00 p.m.; Dec. 21 will be a Christmas Celebration with the Everlasting Word Band and the Living Word Youth Band presenting Christmas music.

Christmas Eve Service Invitation
CTW is invited to attend a Christmas Eve service at Peace Reformed Church in Napoleon, OH (638 Huddle Rd) where Steve Altman is currently serving. The service will begin at 7 p.m. The evening will be a festive blend of music and Scripture readings.

Church Cookbook
Need a Christmas gift idea for that hard to buy for person?  Why not purchase a church cookbook?  They make a great gift with lots of yummy recipes to try out and help support Living Word Youth Ministry outreaches.  If you would like to purchase one (for only $13), please see Rhonda Heyerly today!

LWY Parent Meeting
Dear LWY parents, the LWY leaders strongly encourage you to join us for a brief parent meeting on Sunday, December 7, between Sunday school class and the 2nd Service. We have important information and updates concerning future events that you need to be aware of. We will gather in the 1st Sunday school room on the left in the New School wing. We look forward to seeing you there.

WOW Christmas Fellowship: “Unwrapping God’s Blessings”
Our Christmas fellowship time for all the women at CTW will take place on Tuesday
December 2 at 7:00 p.m.  We will be meeting at the Ward Pavilion. Our speaker, Renee Drees, will be encouraging us as we look at  God’s gifts and blessings. For the food at this event we are asking everyone whose last name begins with the letters A-F to bring a finger type dessert and those with a last name that begins with the letters G-Z to bring an appetizer that can be picked up and put on a plate. No utensils will be provided!

Interviews For Participation In The Lord’s Supper
It is a joy to see our children grow in the Lord and love Jesus Christ. If you, as a parent, have seen your children grow in faith and believe they should be considered for participation in the Lord’s Supper, please contact Andrew Dionne so that he can set-up an interview of your child with the Elders. Messiah Chorus Run Throughs: TODAY
Each Sunday shortly after the second service beginning today we will be gathering around the piano to read through the choral movements of Handel’s Messiah in preparation for the Sing-Along on December 14. If you are interested in singing, please join us.

Evening Service Tonight
Tonight we will hold an evening worship service in the fellowship hall. All are encouraged to attend. Pastor David will be preaching the Word.

November 23: Thank Offering Sunday
The deacons will be collecting our annual Thank Offering on November 23rd. As in the past, we are encouraging the children of Christ the Word to come up to the front of the sanctuary to express their thankfulness to God by bringing an offering. Also, this collection will be the last benevolence collection taken in 2008. We have combined the November and December benevolence in order to help those who will be in need during the holiday season. We are praying that God will bless this offering to teach our children about the importance of giving, and enable our church to do good works of charity. The deacons thank you for your cheerful giving in the past and for your generosity in this next collection.

College-age folks, come on over after Hunter & XinXin’s wedding for pathway at the Brown’s. We’ll enjoy a feast together at 7p.m., but e-mail Ryan (ryankbrown@juno.com) by Tuesday so we know how much food to make! Bring an appetite for food and a hunger for God’s Word!

Dear Christ the Word Church family, you are invited to the wedding of Hunter Turner and Xinxin Gao. The wedding will take place Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at the SDA building. A reception with a light array of hors d’oeuvres will follow in the fellowship hall and narthex.

2009 LWY Winter Retreat
The 2009 LWY Annual Winter Retreat is quickly approaching. If you have not signed-up yet, I strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. Please see Rhonda Heyerly or Hunter Turner if you need a WR sign-up form. The total cost will be $200 per person if you did not sign-up early for the $25 discount. The 2nd payment of $70 is due THIS WEDNESDAY (Nov. 19). Please be sure and seek ways in which you can earn/raise money for this trip whether it is through raking leaves, snow shoveling, the Kroger Gift Card Program, or even cleaning the home.

Announcements from November 9 Bulletin

November 23: Thank Offering Sunday
The deacons will be collecting our annual Thank Offering on November 23rd. As in the past, we are encouraging the children of Christ the Word to come up to the front of the sanctuary to express their thankfulness to God by bringing an offering. Also, this collection will be the last benevolence collection taken in 2008. We have combined the November and December benevolence in order to help those who will be in need during the holiday season. Homeschool Field Trip
Homeschool Field Trip to Marco’s Pizza at 6725 W. Central Ave., near the intersection of McCord and Central. You can choose either Tuesday, November 11 or Thursday, November 13 at 10:15 am. The cost is $2 to make a small pizza with a friend. There is a limit of 30 people per day. So contact Rhonda Heyerly TODAY if interested.

WOW Party At Panera’s
Our November fellowship time for all the women at CTW will take place this coming Tuesday, November 11 at the Panera’s on West Central Ave. in Sylvania at noon. This is the Panera’s on Central across from Meijer. So get a sitter and come join others for food and fellowship.

Class For International Students
Christ the Word is pleased to offer an English Conversation Workshop class to its international students. In addition to grammar and vocabulary review, the class will be based on a variety of materials, including the Gospel of Mark, but will mainly entail the practice of English conversation with American partners. The class begins November 9 and will be held at our church meeting place from 10:00-10:50 every Sunday morning. The cost for books is $10. Please call Tim Varner to register or for more information at 419-350-8953.

New Year’s Eve Variety Show
On December 31, 2008 CTW will have it’s annual Variety Show. This is a show for funny not serious acts. Do you have a funny skit, song, or talents that you would like to do that night? Please see one of the Turner Brothers if you have something you would like to do.

LWY T-Shirts
If you have not paid for your LWY t-shirt(s), please be sure to turn in $5 (for shirts) and $17 (for hoodies) to Hunter Turner. Thanks!

New Refreshment Area
Beginning November 9th, CTW will have a variety of refreshments in the Fellowship Hall as a way to provide first and second service attendees a way to converse with another. Please make your way to the Fellowship Hall between services to enjoy your choice of coffee, tea, bagels and seasonal treats along with the conversation of a friend. We ask that you do not take food out of the Fellowship Hall and that you are careful to supervise your children during this time. In addition to this, please be respectful of other ministries if your time in the refreshment area happens to overlap Sunday school or children’s church.

Deacon of the Day
