Dear Friends,

Thank you for joining us Saturday, Oct 9th, for our first-ever Builders Conference! We thank God for answering our prayers, and you being with us was part of our answered prayer. It is also our ongoing prayer and desire that the teaching we received about godly manhood would lead to fruit in our lives, personally. We hope that you were encouraged and also spurred to action.

As promised, we wanted to let you know that all the conference talks (both main sessions and breakouts) were recorded and are now live on our YouTube page and down below next to each talk. You can listen to them here - YouTube. We would ask that if you know other men that would benefit from this content, please help us spread the word.

Finally, we want to remind you that next year’s conference is going to be on Saturday, October 8, 2022 so mark your calendars now! We will keep you up to date as topics and speakers are announced.

Thank you again for making this year’s Builders Conference a success. We’re grateful to have shared time with you

In Christ,

Builders Conference

OUR MISSION:
What is the Measure of a Man? With so many different ideas of what it means to be a man today, it can be easy to be confused. This conference aims to help men more fully realize what God intends for them. We believe men are created to glorify God in every aspect of our lives. We prayerfully hope this conference will show what God expects from men and help build upon the foundation of Biblical manhood already established by the Lord in His Holy Word. This conference will encourage, challenge, and inspire men to grow in their faith not alone, but alongside other men as brothers in Christ.

THIS YEARS TOPIC

THE VANITY OF FALSE IMAGES OF MANHOOD
BY: JULIUS MICKEL

There is no shortage of opinions, suggestions, and expectations of what ‘manhood’ should look like today. However, God has not called men to strive in their own strength and wisdom to some picture of manhood which rests more on the opinions of others than on the Word of God. If the wisdom of men is substituted for the wisdom of the God, men will aim for a false image. This will end in false fruit, leaving men to constantly work on appearances and seeking after man’s praise. There is no comfort, hope, or joy to be found in pretending to attain to manhood.

There is strength in weakness, hope in confessing, and joy in admitting misery, for this leads men to desperately seek the grace God gives to the humble but withholds from the proud.

THE FOUNDATION OF HOPE AND CONFIDENCE
BY: JULIUS MICKEL

Motives are the root of a man’s actions, the ‘why’ of what he does. God created men to be motivated by something deeper than victory over his fellow man or any other selfish aspirations. Rather, men are to be motivated by love.

Men are to love God, but as much as that love may be, His love for His creation is greater still. The confidence to act and the hope to endure all things is rooted in God the Father’s love for man through God the Son. God not only delights in the expressed needs of His people, but has ordained a life of dependence upon Him for all things.

The Lord is a great and glorious Father who equips His sons with everything they need in order to glorify Him as men. Men will be challenged to run with confidence the race set before them, trusting in what God has done, is doing, and will do.

To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God,to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.
Ephesians 4:12-16
BREAKOUT SESSIONS
PUTTING FATHERHOOD INTO ACTION
BY: MIKE AHRENDT
Deriving a title from the perfect Father, men are called to emulate the attributes and character of a holy God. Those who lead and love others must pursue godliness and model repentance, knowing their actions will be copied even when their words are ignored. A father’s scope of influence extends far beyond those in his household. This session will focus on this challenging but rewarding call and offer practical suggestions for implementing a father’s work in the home and beyond.

DISABLE THE SNOOZE BUTTON
BY: GREG MASER
There is no other activity in a man's life that will consume more of his waking hours than his professional work. A Biblical perspective is needed for the proper attitude to allow a man to see what God is doing in and through him in this environment. This session will explore practical lessons a man learns and must be reminded of over the course of his working life.
It starts with NOT hitting the snooze button!

KNOWING & LOVING YOUR WIFE
BY: JOSH DESONNE
Scripture speaks about the glory of a husband knowing his wife. This knowing is the deepest form of intimacy between a husband and wife. This act follows after the pattern set by Christ between His bride and Himself. The happiness found in a marriage when a husband actively seeks to know his wife is boundless. This session will invite men to explore the happiness God intended in marriage when led by a godly husband.

CULTIVATING GODLY DISCIPLINES
BY: KEN WEGRZYN
We spend so much time in this world running after worldly desires and aiming towards perishing goals that we find ourselves exhausted, lacking purpose, and distant from our God. What are we training our bodies in? What direction are we pursuing? Godly discipline is rooted in our value and desire for God Himself. This session will focus on examining our desire to be disciplined, running with purpose, and practical applications in training ourselves in Godly disciplines.

SUCCESS WHILE SINGLE
BY: BOB FORNEY
Great are the opportunities and great the temptations of singleness. Overcoming feelings of loneliness and sexual temptations is much easier when engaged in building the kingdom. “The Lord is near to those who call on Him…He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him.” (Ps. 145:18, 19). Attendees will hear from a speaker who was single until age 41. The session will cover what he learned about finding satisfaction in the Lord and being successful while single.
