We hope these speaker spotlights have helped whet your appetites for the talks you can expect to hear at the re:garding HIM Women’s Conference. We are just over three weeks away from gathering on October 3, 2015 and there are several more speakers between now and then whom we want you to meet.
This week we introduce you to a very dear woman, Johanna Armentrout…and then strangely, myself.
Many of us are praying this conference will minister in such a way that women are able to grow and be strengthened to walk victoriously in Christ. Won’t you consider registering today! It is affordable and is sure to be time well-spent.
Thanks for reading and sharing.
The Dragonslayer: Vanquishing Sin in Your Life
Our daily battle with sin can leave us feeling defeated. Wisdom from God’s Word gives us practical help to overcome sins which commonly afflict women.
with Erika Simpson
[ES] Introvert. I tend to be lonely in a crowd and a bit awkward socially. I enjoy solitude and small groups.
[ES] Create something or take a long walk near water
[ES] Favorite smells: lilacs, campfires. Worst smells: our big, fat van after a roadtrip
[JA] Knowing some of God’s nature, reveals truth to past hurts, that in turn influence present responses, bringing chain breaking change so we’re able to reflect His God’s glory and joy.(Sorry couldn’t do it in 10 words or less no matter how hard I tried) 🙂
[JA] As you can tell from the above answer, I had to work on being concise. (Am I supposed to give more than one answer? For I found A LOT that challenged me, but I gave a short easy answer which I hope will suffice)
[JA] I take it that this is a one answer question too. For the one that comes to mind immediately is “Jesus wept”. I know that he was brought to tears and it was because, “He groaned in the spirit, and was troubled” so, it’s ok for me to do so also, because there was a lot of groaning in my spirit and I was troubled so I cried, and He was able to bring me through it, trusting He will use it for good and will have glory from it too.
[JA] “The Practice of the Presence of God” by Brother Lawrence. I am humble when I read this and yet encouraged at the same time.
[JA] Today it’s, “This is my Father’s World.” It is a difficult for me to have a favorite, there are so many wonderful songs, and I’m unable to limit it to one. Yesterday’s favorite was, “Amazing Grace.”
Introvert or extrovert? How do you know?
Hmm, is there a third option? I really do not fit snugly in the either/or categorization. Could I be both? And could that be called normal?
[JA] I’d spend 1 hour talking to someone I loved and the second, kayaking. They’d be welcome to come along, as long as they didn’t mind me talking out loud to God.
[JA] Baby sweat. Upchuck. In that order. My husband said if he could bottle the smell of baby sweat he’d make millions. I agree.
[JA] The young slave girl in the story of Naaman the Leper story in 2 Kings 5. Because God took and allowed the tragedy of her captivity to accomplish a greater good. She was a faithful gal and God brought blessings and received glory through her simple little act of giving a good word.
[JA] It was the …this is the hardest question to answer. I think because I’ve had so many wonder filled ones and can’t narrow it down to just one. Just like question #5, the favorite song question.
[JA] I’d say not “seeing the beam in my eye”, is a weakness in me. Looking at me being able to pray as a wondrous gift and being able laugh when thing things go awry, seem to be some strengths I have.
